As part of Erasmus+ KA229, we are running a 2-year international project entitled Legends are back – LAB, involving Italy, Poland, Portugal and Slovenia. The project runs from September 2020 to August 2023.
The main objective of the project is to integrate all pupils in an integrated way in the educational work, regardless of gender, ethnicity, social background, their abilities and capacities, supported by different mechanisms and methods. Using legends, myths, traditional stories, pupils will develop and strengthen their social and emotional areas. Culture will be used as a key component in international relations to increase understanding, socialisation, awareness and cooperation, bringing together pupils and teachers from different countries and cultures, those developing pupils’ horizons about creative thinking and new approaches. Teachers have the additional responsibility of disseminating and ensuring its dissemination/preservation. An important objective of this project is to develop positive moral values in the pupils and to protect them from bad habits and addictions by making them more aware of their roots and those of the partner countries involved.
Due to the cancellation of two partner countries, we had to change the locations of the meetings and the timing of the meetings for one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The NA also decided to extend the project until August 2023.
Five LTT meetings (Portugal, Italy, Slovenia, Poland, Italy) and two TPM meetings (Slovenia, Portugal) are foreseen. The meetings will be attended by teachers and students.
